Sinners Like Me Lyrics
I was fifteen
when my daddy's old man
caught me halfway through
my first beer.
He laughed so hard
when my faced turned red,
he said "You come from a long line
of sinners like me."
Well me and my brother
go to see him sometimes,
but he don't have much to say anymore.
So we sit on his headstone
with a fifth of Jack D
Here's to a long line
of sinners like me.
[La de da de da, La de da da de de]
I come from a long line
of sinners like me.
My momma had a soft spot
for a hell raising boy,
so she had two more
just like him.
It takes an angel
to raise a family,
that comes from a long line
of sinners like me.
Well now maybe,
who knows?
One day I'll settle down,
give my dad a grandson
of his own.
And when the doctor smacks him
he'll probably take a swing,
cause he'll come from a long line
of sinners like me.
[La de da de da, La de da da de de]
I come from a long line
of sinners like me.
On the day I die
I know where I'm gonna go,
Me and Jesus got that part
worked out.
I'll wait at the gate
till his face I see.
I'll stand in a long line,
of sinners like me.
I'll stand in a long line,
of sinners like me.
[La de da de da, La de da da de de]
I come from a long line
of sinners like me.

this song isnt just about drinking... it is about loving your family for who they are and getting forgivness from God for your sins. one of my favorites... =] i guess i can relate to it
So, I guess that drinking beer at 15 years old is a sin?

So, I guess that drinking beer at 15 years old is a sin?
Drinking is not a sin @ all, its drinking 'til your so drunk you can't control yourself that's a sin...one that I'm guilty of on a few occasions....I'd also like to say that in the first verse, it's "He laughed so hard when my faced turned GREEN" Aside from all that GREAT SONG!!!!
this song is incredible. i mean the meaning is pretty obvious but i just have to say that my favorite part of the song is "on the day i die i know where i'm gonna go. me and jesus got that part worked out." so clever and well thought out.
