Simpatico Lyrics

I saw it once
It drove me mad
I saw it twice
It made me so sad
When I saw it again
I knew that it was not a fad
Tell me what it is you want
Tell me what it was you had

I speak it now
Like hablo espanol
I know it now
It's burned into my soul
Like I know
Bonita y feo
Sex and marijuana
Sex and bones and Ol' King Cole

Scream at me, oh no
Baby, I love you so
No quiero, No puedo
I'll kill you if you da-da-da-da-da-da-don't

Cover art for Simpatico lyrics by Burning Mona Lisa

This songs sort of a tribute to the Pixies. The first time I heard them, it was nonsensical beauty. The second time, I started to understand the depth of feeling they put into what looks like abstract lyrics. I started to love the Pixies because they're such an unconventional band in every sense of the term. I threw a lot of Spanish in here, I'm not an expert, but it's so prevalant in Pixies songs that I just had to. Now they are one of my favorite bands, and it's a part of me that I can't let go of, like sex, marijuana, and Ol' King Cole.

PS- This song is now called Simpatico
