Fly Low Carrion Crow Lyrics
fly low ye carion crow
seize my body for the dead I owe
drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
it's just you and me and my rib-caged brain
we polish the brass and we dust the pain
and we lay down fallow like slaveless chians
and they call us sick as though they're all so sane
so fly low ye carion crow
and seize my body for to free my soul
and drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
and what speak you of a love so bold?
and if song could sing, no word could hold
but I warn you now of an end foretold
and a life long waiting for a death below
so fly low ye carion crow
and sieze my body for it lives no more
and drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
for the things I've seen no one else should know
for the things I've seen no one else should know
seize my body for the dead I owe
drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
we polish the brass and we dust the pain
and we lay down fallow like slaveless chians
and they call us sick as though they're all so sane
and seize my body for to free my soul
and drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
and if song could sing, no word could hold
but I warn you now of an end foretold
and a life long waiting for a death below
and sieze my body for it lives no more
and drop me high into the depths below
for the things I've seen no one else should know
for the things I've seen no one else should know
for the things I've seen no one else should know

so haunting. fantastic.
lyrics in the cd booklet are different from what he actually sings, though (these are what he actual sings i assume).
and a life long waiting for a death below I think the last word should be parole.. ?
for the "debt" I owe dust the "pane" "no" song could sing waiting for "death's parole"
Now the house cleaning is done, anyone know what this is about? My best guess is divorce (the love so bold, the chains, the death's parole) but that's little more then a guess. Also what is a rib-cage brain?
Adam writes about a lot of abstracted ideas, kind of poetically displaying what we know innately. I think this song less specific and more aimed at looking back at one's decisions in life; in love; and knowing you messed up.
As for a rib-cage brain, well, that is a heart. Some lead their lives by emotional intellect.
The feedback he uses in this song is so eerie, it fits so well.
the first time i heard this song i though it was about him seeing too much in his life and enduring misery with too much emotion, all he wishes is to be relived of his misery, for instance when he says "sieze my body for it lives no more" he is relating to the fact that all his hardships have left him empty and refering to his "ribcage brain" the fact that it is in "bars" like a cage within himself
