Cheaper Than Therapy Lyrics
just back from a weekend of luxury
you get so weightless
in personal hell
sad eyed, your're looking up to me
some chinese chasers
for your terminal health
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
you know the odds of recovery
from ballroom days
and walks through the park
I'd be pin-striped and handsome
if you'd stay for a while with me
before the mail comes
before im alone
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
the music and wine
is cheaper than therapy
get off on the digital high tonight
I'd spy an oyster
and you'd spy a whale
I wish I was too young
to taste the time tripped over
and over again
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
the music and wine
is cheaper than therapy
you get so weightless
in personal hell
sad eyed, your're looking up to me
some chinese chasers
for your terminal health
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
from ballroom days
and walks through the park
I'd be pin-striped and handsome
if you'd stay for a while with me
before the mail comes
before im alone
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
the music and wine
is cheaper than therapy
I'd spy an oyster
and you'd spy a whale
I wish I was too young
to taste the time tripped over
and over again
you'd say I'm out of my head
but really I'm the only one who's bounced back
the music and wine
is cheaper than therapy

this song hits me hard.
HAHAHAHAHA. I love the concept, I don't like the sound of this song though, for some reason. :S
i like this song a lot... but yea there is a part of the song I don't like the sound of. Like it doesn't belong, for me anyway...
this is my favorite song on the album. the music that i want is cheaper than therapy. i can't really relate to the rest of the lyrics. the music is beautiful. i don't feel any part doesn't belong.
I feel like he's maybe addressing a girl who he loves who has had some sort of serious emotional problems (suicide, abuse, death of a close one, drugs, who knows) and she has taken the typical course of rehab, so she's back from some fancy rehab place that makes it seem like a vacation (based on "personal hell," "sad eyes," and "terminal health")
it seems like he doubts that this way of recovery will work, he's advocating a more natural way, which for him is through song
maybe whatever is upsetting her was something that both of them had to go through, but he's handling it better since he says "you'd say I'm out of my head but really I'm the only one who's bounced back"
it's kind of a resigned, bittersweet song
i always hear "music and wine is cheaper than therapy" ?
