You can't all pretend
That you don't know enough
Enough to make sense
All this will be gone
And you can sink beneath
The rapture we've spawned
What have we become
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this
Blood will bleed the blind
When the only thing diseased their lives
Let not the sun their lives
On the wrath of this inconvenient truth
What have we become
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this
Just smile like the idiots you are
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this
That you don't know enough
Enough to make sense
All this will be gone
And you can sink beneath
The rapture we've spawned
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this
When the only thing diseased their lives
Let not the sun their lives
On the wrath of this inconvenient truth
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this
To make the floods seem still
You know we don't have all the entire world
To make the most of this

The lyrics are wrong but never mind. The song is about global warming (that's kind of obvious) with lines like "inconvenient truth". It's also about the way people ignore the problem and they'll have to live with the consequences in the end. The lyrics are weirdly clear for fightstar, which I suppose is because they want everyone to understand what they're saying and take it to heart. The words for the chorus are slightly fatalistic as well, the lines are actually "you know we don't have all the time in the world, so make the most of this." I guess this is saying that it's all over anyway thanks to this "rapture we've spawned" so we should all live for the moment, smile like the idiots we are, and swim.
sillyhatman recognizes the point in my opinion.

I agree with 359847, it's definitely "Blind will bleed the blind When the only thing to see is their lies"
And as SillyHatMan says, it's about global warming. "Charlie Simpson has stated the song deals more with environmental issues, such as global warming and climate change, and about how people have influenced their own downfall within it" is what the Wikipedia page on the song says.
Basically it's telling us to make the most of what we've got right now, because one day we'll lead further into our "downfall" that we're creating through global warming etc. Also that it's hard to believe what we're doing when we already know the future outcome; "what have we become", but we're doing it anyway, so "make the most of it."
"Smile like the idiots we are" obviously means that we're still carrying on with all this stuff despite all of the things that have already happened as a result of what we're doing to the world, that we're carrying on trying to believe that we won't ruin it, when we really are going to.
It's a fantastic song, definitely one of my favourite Fightstar tracks.
"all the time in the world".. not 'entire' x
Blood will bleed the blind When the only thing diseased their lives Let not the sun their lives On the wrath of this inconvenient truth
...No.
it's.. blind will bleed the blind when the only thing to see is their lies Let not the sun go down on the wrath of this inconvienient truth
isn't it : "blind will lead the blind" ?
I know it sounds like 'blind will bleed the blind', but wouldn't "blind will lead the blind" be more adequate?
00adamss28 is definately right & it's "we don't have all the time in the world" but yea great song it's definately about the whatnot going on in the world & how we just sit around doing nothing about it
love the song
this intro blows me away every single time.
i just looked this up on fightstar's website and this song is a nod to Al Gore's "An Inconvienient Truth" about global warming and stuff
