Sounds like a song about cheating.
sounds to me like forbidden love, whether it's cheating or not. "you shouldn't be here, i feel awkward and good"; if you weren't here, i wouldnt have this internal struggle over whether to be with you or to avoid you. the chorus confuses me a little, but i think he's saying time may move really fast or really slow, depending on how "awkward" or "good" it is, but either way, he really wants this forbidden girl right now, but he'll have to wait, meaning she doesn't like him as much as he likes her. i think that further points to how he wish she weren't there, because knowing his desire for her isnt reciprocal just hurts him a lot
The lyrics are awesome, but the musical feel of the drums and guitar in the background make an incredibly intense emotional feeling. You can feel the music pulling at your soul, especially once its the vamp after the chorus and its just him humming with the guitar and the drums and it builds and builds. You can feel your heartstrings get pulled.
I think it's the same girl described in Accidental Babies or 9 Crimes. He has a girlfriend so he feels good but awkward to be with this girl. He wants to be with her but feels it may be too late now because he is with someone else, and she's probably with someone as well, but he wants her so he can wait until they're both free. I think this song is about thinking of cheating but not doing it (at least for now). But it is too hard for him to be near her so I think he will eventually end up cheating at some point (Accidental Babies or 9 Crimes).
