This Is Our Town Lyrics
Dear Bradenton
You have been good to me
You kept your word
And got me through these years
All I ask is that you'll be there
When I return
To share arms
In what we have learned
For so long, these streets were my home
Dear Bradenton
As the city sleeps the night
You found us hiding out
Under parking garage lights
And you know
You know you'll find us here
When we return
From Anna's Isle to Lakewood's fields
This is our town
This is who we're meant to be
This is our town
Where our roots have grown so deep
This is our town
This is where we're meant to be
This is our town
We'll keep coming back because...
This is our town
This is our town
This is our town
(What are we running for?)
This is our town
(What are we running for?)
This is our town
(This is our town)
Dear Bradenton
As I gently close my eyes
I hear you whisper softly
As we continue our goodbyes
And all I ask is that you'll be there
When I return
'Cause this is our town
This is who we're meant to be
This is our town
We're our roots have grown so deep
All I ask is that you'll be here
When I return
You have been good to me
You kept your word

I'm pretty sure all the parts where you have ? in town I think he says Dear Bradenton Cuz that's where they are from
i've never known anyone to love their hometown as much as these boys. btown isn't even all that great. ha.
I almost cried when I heard the song for the very first time, this is one of this song who doesn't need 'much' music or this complicated lyrics. This one of those songs who is so simple and they can touch everyone's soul because it’s sung with so much true emotion. The simple story about the place where you grew up with this people they can never be replaced. About this safety you can always return to, somehow this ‘anonymous promise’. This song gives me the feeling that everything is going to be okay as long as you not forget what really matters to your soul.
Ah, you're right. Thanks. I just somehow couldn't figure out what they were saying.
Haha no problem it took me a while too they're so goood this whole CD is amazinggg
Amazing song! Love that the WTK is representing Bradenton with a great song. Correction: klianglovesrice has the right line, its "from Anna's Isle to Lakewoods fields". Anna's Isle, is short for Anna Maria Island which is on the west coast side of Bradenton and Lakewood's fields is for Lakewood Ranch which is at the other end of Bradenton.
repping 941! i love this song and all the landmarks around my hometown they mention. these boys are fuckin awesome
are these lyrics right? when i listen to the song and read these at the same time, they don't match up. there's like an entire verse missing.
There's a couple of different verisons of the song I noticed...it took me the longest time to find one that actually matched the lyrics. I have two verisons on my iPod. One says"What are you waiting for?" but the album verison says "what are you running for?"

this song is great. it made me think about how everything changes, but what matters is that you change for the better. i've been attached to my hometown my entire life, and just thinking about what will happen once i move away hurts like hell.
I seriously love th8is band so much. I cannot wait to see them at Warped Tour. We just keep getting awsome bands coming from Florida. This is the way to represent our stare. =)
