What Else Is There? Lyrics
It was me on that road
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here
It was me on that road
Still you couldn't see me
And then flashlights and explosions
Roads end getting nearer
We cover distance but not together
I am the storm I am the wonder
And the flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
It's about you and the sun
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache for
I've got a golden ear
I cut and I spear
And what else is there
Roads and getting nearer
We cover distance still not together
If I am the storm if I am the wonder
Will I have a flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions
There's no room where I can go and
You've got secrets too
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here
Still you couldn't see me
And then flashlights and explosions
We cover distance but not together
And the flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions
I was given just one wish
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache for
I cut and I spear
And what else is there
We cover distance still not together
Will I have a flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions
You've got secrets too
I was given just one wish

This song is a call out to her god. What else is there? as we near the end of the road we wonder if we are going to transform into something greater after our death, Pay attention to the video, what else is there beyond the basic human needs, and for flashlights ( our intellect inovative inquisitive side) nighmares (uncounciousness or that misterious part of our mind) i think explosions measns our emotional self. could me explosions as in our emotions or how our emotions drive us to explode( in anger happyness, sadness ect... sometimes leading to war,,once again back to explosions. the one wish is to be alive and councious but we are limited to our existense.. all in all it is a very beautiful yet somber song.
BEST SONG EVER
yes mate! SUCH A GREAT SONG...one of these songs that can make your day :-)
Definitely check out the Trentemoller remix.
Makes the song even better.
It's about our humanity and searching for answers about the meaning of life. The song and the video show a lots of symbolic representations of the original sin. And I'm totally agree with romerojcb about being "the storm, the wonder, the flashlights, nightmares and sudden explotions", that's an excellent description of a human being.
I second the Trentemoller remix.
Also, the lyrics speak to me like a lack of control. When I first listened to it, I thought it was about a chick getting run over on a dark road, and her final wishes. So although I don't want to take it that literally, I'm still feeling like it's a song about a desire for simple pleasures in the midst of chaos.
"You couldn't see me," suggests that you ought to have seen her, but you couldn't; it was dark, and then there were "flashlights, sudden explosions"
"I don't know what more to ask for, I was given just one wish," seems very passive, especially when her wishes - "you and the sun, a morning run..." are so simple.
I feel like there have got to be better lyrics in place of "golden ear, I cut and I spear..." that really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
Being the storm and the wonder suggests a kind of hidden personality, a kind of passive power waiting to express itself in lightening or "sudden explosions."
"There's no room where I can go, and you've got secrets too," continues the theme of hidden things, and certainly secrets might "explode" like a storm.
in my humble opinion.
At first, I thought it was about an accident as well, but when I saw the video and listened to teh song many many times, I came to the conclusion it's about anger and desire. I suspect that "flashlights" isn't referring to actual flashlight, but rather flashes of light. "I am the storm I am the wonder" "And then flashlights and explosions" reminds me of someone who is quite angry that they can't have what they long for. We have all been there. A place where we are alone "It was me on that road But you couldn't see me" and full of desire and lust for that other person "It's about you and the sun" "What I have and what I ache for", but for some reasons, we can't have what we desire "We cover distance still not together". So, we lash out in pain and anger "I am the storm I am the wonder And the flashlights nightmares And sudden explosions". Sometimes, in a fit of rage, we can blow everything up including ourselves and the person we care more about then anything. Afterall, what else is there besides the one and only thing we ache for?
