Radio Nowhere Lyrics

I was trying to find my way home
But all I heard was a drone
Bouncing off my satellite
Crushing the last light American nights

This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?

I was spinning ‘round a dirt dive
Just another lost number in a file
Dancing down a dark hole
Just searching for a world with some soul

This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some rhythm

I want a thousand guitars
I want the pounding drums
I want a million different voices speaking in tongues

This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

<Saxophone solo>

I was driving through the misty rain
Just searching for a mystery train
Bopping through the wild gloom
Trying to make a connection with you

This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is Radio Nowhere
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear some rhythm
I just wanna hear your rhythm

This song is the last cry of an artist that suffer to see his nation destroyed by greed, globalizzation, neocons and hypocricy. Bruce, I'm really sorry, Amreica ain't no more.

America is no longer the home of the free and land of the brave. it's the home of rich, greedy, selfish politicians and land of the corrupted. it hurts to see how America is more concerned with Tiger Woods than what our congressman/senators/mayors/presidents do. Obama will do a lot but America is past saving in those respects.

I think this song is about the state of the world! How careless we have all become! We only care about ourselves!

Springsteen (from Rolling Stone magazine, November 1, 2007): "It's an end-of-the-world scenario - he's seeing the apocalypse. All communications are down. That's my business, that's what it's all about - trying to connect to you. It comes down to trying to make people happy, feel less lonely, but also being a conduit for a dialogue about the events of the day, the issues that impact people's lives, personal and social and political and religious. That's how I always saw the job of our band."

Yes, this sounds like a kind of "hell on earth" in the end:

I was spinning round a dirt dive Just another lost number in a file Dancing down a dark hole Just searching for a world with some soul

I was driving through the misty rain Just searching for a mystery train Bopping through the wild gloom Trying to make a connection with you

sounds very dark, they're a lost number in a file, destruction of your life, depressing, lonely and they hear nothing...Radio Nowhere and they want to hear something...anything.
