Dancin' in the Moonlight Lyrics

We get it on most every night
When that old moon gets so big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You can't dance and stay uptight
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

[break]

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

This song is my absolute favorite song ever! I see it as an innocent summer fling- it'd be a great outside prom song!

Not saying it's a bad song-but uhm have you ever tried to do anything by moonlight? Unless your a werewolf-two left feet man.

LOL-or as you'd say "Just Sayin'". ;)

There's a video (with Dutch subtitles) of an interview with Sherman Kelly, the composer, about the song. Turns out he wrote it after a terrible night on an island where he and a woman were attacked--a way to turn it into something positive. The URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFVUU3R1aSQ

I used it for that exactly...after prom my girlfriend and I went to my driveway (which is in the country) and looked at the stars and I happened to have it on my phone so i played it. She went nuts for it. It was hella romantic

I don't want to listen to this song too much... I don't want to look at pictures of the band... I don't want to do any research... I don't want to figure it out... because the first 35 seconds or so are just magic...

The song is an ode to marijuana, dancing in the moonlight is a reference to inebriation, " Everybody here is out of sight They don't bark, and they don't bite They keep things loose, they keep things light Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight Everybody's feelin' warm and right It's such a fine and natural sight Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight You can't dance and stay uptight It's a supernatural delight Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight"

here we see the effects of marijuana, everyone is relaxed and having fun, you cant be high and stay uptight, its almost supernatural, the song also references the wide availability of marijuana in the 60's, " We get it almost everynight", all in all an awesome song
