yeah it does sound like a relationship that has just gone bad and this guy is trying really hard to end it because he wants to try other things in his life
I haven't thought about what this song means, but it definitely sounds similar to Soundgarden. I actually thought it was Chris Cornell singing at first, until I looked it up.

Jester I thought the exact same thing when I first heard the vocalist, I could've sworn it was Chris Cornell. But then I listened to the rest of the song and realized it wasn't even near the talent level of a band that Chris Cornell would be in, including Soundgarden and Audioslave.
just from reading the lyrics, this song makes me think a is guy talking about himself as he hopes to be- but despite him saying that he won't wait around- he really means he won't wait around after the girl or person gives him an answer. as strong as he is- he still hesitates and has his weakness. but listening to the song- you hear the more serious tone and it makes me think he is completely done and is walking away, and only leaving his warning that forever isn't something humans get.
i read an interview in revolver, they guys name is johnny strong, he played one of the delta"operators" (military and LE term folks) in Blackhawk down. as far as what it means, i dont give a fuck its bad ass, but this band doesnt seem to be doing to well as of the time i write this, which makes me sad.....
