This song is about Nikki's childhood and what caused him to go down the spiral. His father had abandoned him at very early age and his mother and abusive boyfriend raised him. The lack of parental guidance caused him to steal, lie, and do and sell drugs.
The second part of the song is about when Nikki overdosed after a show and died for a few minutes before being revived by a paramedic on the ambulance. "You can lead him to the ambulance, But you cannot make him live"

my favorite song off the CD. and the songs mean so much more after you read the book. because you know EXACTLY what hes talking about and how hes feeling.
Such an amazing song. This is one of my favorites off of it. But then again they are all so great, so it's hard to pick just one that's a favorite. lol
I too am so glad Nikki lived b/c he is fucking awesome! He has made such a turn around and is now using his experiences to help others. He's just the best...and he doesn't look too bad either. ;)
