I agree with the idea that this song is about sexual intercourse. I think the lyrics are amazing though, and so sweet. Although he talks about it being secret, it's sweet, more like it's a forbidden love, but a really truly strong one.

He talks about being nervous for the first time: "We're finally intertwined Nervous and shy"

And making it special: "Soft kiss and wine"

I love the bridge! It really shows how much he loves her. I think it's saying that you shouldn't feel guilty about being with the person you love, and for having sex with them if you love them this much. It's a big step, and it's like a whole rebirth for the relationship.

Also this line: "Don't worry Talk, they will" Especially makes me think of a forbidden love and how the couple fights past it and stay strong and true despite what anyone else may think or say. LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

At first I thought this song was about a first time, but then reading the above comment made sense, but I have more to add to it. I think that the song is about a guy who's in love with a girl who has a boyfriend. They're good friends and they're about to hook up and this is his dream.

This verse is about his "friend" and they're finally getting together. He's really nervous because it's with somebody who is taken. He calls her his "secret valentine" because nobody can know that they like each other.

He's trying to memoralize the evening in his head because he knows this can only happen once. He wants them to hurry so they can finally be together the way he wants them to be together.

He says here that he'll only love her tonight because she's with somebody else. I think he really loves her but he's trying to convince himself that he can only have her for one.

He knows that she'll feel guilty but he wants her know that it's okay and maybe he'll tell her he loves her.

The guy is hanging around, infatuated with a girl, passing time until she finally notices him. Great song!

Love it! But, pretty obvious what this one's about. Travis has even said, both times that I've seen them, "This song is about sexual intercourse."

yeah i saw these guys last night and i specifically remember travis saying this song was about sexual intercourse. it deffinetly makes sense though... soft kisses and wine, and both boy and girl 'shaking,' meaning they're so nervous that they're 'shaking inside.'

i love this song. thats all that matters.

This song is to sexual intercourse, but it is in a loving way. Not like some rap song when all you hear is "Gettin in dat monkey" Travis has a way with his words and how he explains this "first time" is brilliant. amazing band.

Also, this song kind of reminds me of Sweet Child of Mine. Especially the guitar at the beginning. Does anyone else see it?
