in a live performance he said it was about missing a loved one who was far away. but to me its about a guy after the ending of serious relationship he didnt end. & he just wishes that things couldve been different - he letting her know just how much she means to him, etc - and having her back would make his life just. perfect. but without her its pretty worthless. just 2 cents.
