Payback Lyrics
This is not a test, not a test
There can't be any secrets
Do you think that I can see you?
I know it's late
I need you
To open my chest, my chest
Fix whatever you need to be fixed
So long as I can hold you
Breathe in rhythm with you
It's all that I've waited for
This is payback for all of the words
That never meant enough to keep me concerned
Every homesick letter
That never had the strength to find your door
This is just enough to keep me concerned
With every hope I had that you would return
And now I've learned that you've become
Everything I've once hated
That I still depend on
This is torturous, torturous
So close I can feel your touch
I'd be patient, but I lust for you
I'll do anything you want me to
I'll be the best chance you take
Lost in the rhythm our bodies make
Girl, you know I lust for you
I'll do anything you want me to
It's all that I've waited for
This is payback for all of the words
That never meant enough to keep me concerned
Every homesick letter
That never had the strength to find your door
This is just enough to keep me concerned
With every hope I had that you would return
And now I've learned that you've become
Everything I've once hated
That I still depend on
And if all I can do
Is just sit and wait for you
Then I guess I'll just be waiting till the end
Oh, I guess I'll just be waiting till the end
There can't be any secrets
Do you think that I can see you?
I know it's late
I need you
Fix whatever you need to be fixed
So long as I can hold you
Breathe in rhythm with you
It's all that I've waited for
That never meant enough to keep me concerned
Every homesick letter
That never had the strength to find your door
With every hope I had that you would return

nothin too big, good job
This is one of my favorites off the new album.
Oh, and it's "I'll be the best chance you take". Not, "I'll be the best chance take you take".
Thanks for the corrections. I took these off of plyrics.com so I didn't really check to see if they were right or not. Hah. Guess I should have.
its about a guy who wants to be with a girl who he loves, but she doesn't feel the same. the guy will literally do anything to get with this girl who means everything to him. he sees her go from one bad relationship to another and all he can really do is sit on the side and wait for her.
idk maybe i'm wrong but its just my take on the song. either way it's a beautiful song with great lyrics
i think it's about a guy and a girl who broke up for some reason. but he wants to change (open my chest, fix whatever you need to be fixed) so that they can be together again because he still loves her. i think it being called payback has to do with him not telling her how he feels, at least that's what it sounds like from the first part of the chorus.
anyone agree?
