The Scorpion Deathlock Lyrics
Distance decreases as if time is a dying cockroach.
Plagues enclose.
Sitting upon this wooden bench, I am helpless to billions of bullets.
In this moment I am helpless.
Why is it so difficult to see ourselves?
No poem I've wrote, Nor song I have sung, can halt the army of wrath.
Numbers Numbers Numbers Numbers.
In this moment I am helpless.
Serpents will transform into mice only to drown in the deepest red.
I've always expresses my thoughts in colors, but we remain blind.
Numbers Numbers Numbers Numbers

I think its about how god never leaves us and is always by our side. and that we have to realize that we are helpless without his constant protection.
amen to that brother! I wish all the emo kids knew that.

This whole cd i may be taking very literally, but in the lyric book there are bible versus pertaining to Exodus, the chapter of the bible in which the plagues ensue. I feel that as we near the end of the CD we find that plagues have ravaged the good in the world. Yet we find that god is still there. Did god leave the Egyptians when the plagues ravaged their lands? This is the ultimate test of faith. Taking not what you want or "deserve" but what god wants for you.
"Serpents will transform into mice only to drown in the deepest red. I've always expresses my thoughts in colors, but we remain blind."
Man wants to view himself as a powerful being, yet that power is instilled upon us by god. These "serpents" have misued their power for their will, yet without god they would not be there. As the plagues tear their land and health to shreds, they fall victim and see this. Turning to "mice" or prey instead of the original predator. Their whole lives full of power have been turned around on them and they find themselves having nothing. "drowning in the deepest red" red is love, red is death, red is blood. my first thought was blood, yet now i think i have found a better answer. God loves man. Period. Sin is forgiven, all you have to do is ask. They will fall from their power and find that when they become the prey and give themselves to god, they drown in the love, become enclosed in it.
cant leave my band with 0 comments again. support TDWP!!!!!!!!!!
plus this song is my second favorite on the whole new c.d. i wish i knew what it meant.
"Sitting upon this wooden bench" gives me a picture of someone on a cross.
WrathofGod: " 'Sitting upon this wooden bench' gives me a picture of someone on a cross. "
I'm going to have to disagree with you about the cross part. Did you ever think about the second coming of Jesus coming back to earth, all those who don't believe in him wish to kill him. If he were to sit on a bench in the middle of a park, he will be shot at with billion of bullets by non-believers.
And about Numbers, and why he always repeats it.
I think that it could be about the number "666" the mark of the beast, while the anti-christ will be on the earth, most of you are familiar with this. Those that wish to shop at stores, buy food, go to a gym, get gas, has to show proof of that number on either your forehead or on your hand. The reason why he repeats it could possibly be the fact that you will be asked multiple times.
"Sitting upon this wooden bench, I am helpless to billions of bullets. In this moment I am helpless." -means; without god by our side and witout his protection we are helpless.
"No poem I've wrote, Nor song I have sung, can halt the army of wrath." -means; without god accepting gd or having him on your side nothing good you can do can make up for a lifetime of bad"
why don't we just apply the verse from exodus that corresponds in the cd booklet? likely a hint.
But lets be real, when you listen to this song, you're just waiting for the bass to drop at “NOHHHMBRRRZ,” because it makes you feel so fucking alive... and THAT'S what TDWP is all about.
I agree 100% with NumbersNumbers about TDWP being all about making you feel alive.
