Divine Design to Great Decline Lyrics

Surely In Vain
Have I Kept my heart still pure
In Vain have I

Rescue me and deliver me
Turn your ear to me and save me
Be my rock of refuge
Deliver me my God from the grasp evil

Through the Marked
All these things that you see
way to be yourself
way to crash and burn

Do Not Forsake me when my strength is gone
Answer Me, Out of Love, Have your mercy turn to me

They Kill because they envy
but i pray to you oh lord in the time
of your favour
be not far from me
Your divine design shall not

Through the marked
and all these things that you see
way to be yourself
way to crash and burn

Do not forsake me when my strength is gone
answer me, out of love, have your mercy turn to me

You thought it wasnt me
You think everyones affraid
maybe this time you'll disagree

Oh Lord, Do not delay
Crush the Oppressor

Sweet! First Post! I love this song. This is what got me hooked to In Fair Verona.

Anyways. I was sitting in church this morning and we were reading the Psalter lessons. The verses where 71:1-16. I couldn't help but notice the connection between the lessons and the song.

Let Me Explain.

  1. "Rescue and deliver me. Turn your ear to me and Save me"

~~ Psalm 71:2 "Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; incline your ear to me and save me"

2 "Be My Rock of Refuge"

~~ Psalm 71:3 "Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress"

3 "Deliver me my God from the grasp of evil"

~~Psalm 71:4 "Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of evil and cruel men"

  1. "Do Not Forsake me when my strength is gone"

~~Psalm 71:9 "Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone"

There's a couple more if you want to read them. I use bible gateway.
