This song is about the kids's TV show 'Knightmare' that was on back in the day.
There were teams of four kids, one would wear a helmet so they couldn't see and had to walk around a virtual 3D world guided by the rest of their friends.
They came up against a load of bad guys (usually played by washed-up actors) and had to pick up power-ups (hence the 'turn left, get the bread...' lyric).
