Wandering the night, sad and alone
Wide awake, had no direction
Dragging my paws through the cover of darkness
Found myself deep in a wood
I followed a path that lead to a clearing
By a lake lit by the moon
Fell asleep to the song of crickets
But I'd be awakened soon
I heard them around me
The creatures they found me
And my eyes had opened
To their eyes upon me
Then I felt a large paw touch me on my shoulder
And a warm voice assured me not to be afraid
He said,"Welcome to the furry green forest
Where you have strayed
We're all family in the furry green forest
And we hope you'll stay."
He took me into his embrace
With a big bear hug, he made me feel welcome
He introduced me to his mate
