I hate how people will butcher the lyrics because they go by what they THINK they hear, not by the actual lyric books. And this is in no way about death or God. Mae is not a christain band, they may have signed with Tooth and Nails but that is because they got an offer so they took it. It is just a way for Tooth and Nails to make money off of the people who listen to music about God. And don't get me wrong, I am a Christain, but in no way are their songs about God.

Anyway, in my opinion, it seems to be about how he is always waiting for something to happen with a person who he has feelings for instead of actually trying to get them to fall for him, if that even made any sense.
