Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
cant believe nobody commented on this song dang..haha
although this song is lyricless, jimi and the rest of the band defanitely portrays the message through the melody
OH MY GOD. What an amazing song. Easily my favourite instrumental song, one of the best of Doves, and one of my favourite songs PERIOD. I posted it, even though it has no lyrics, because it is such a beautifully depressing song that I assumed that it holds different meanings for different people. After my girlfriend and I split, this was the song I used to listen to a lot. It was the one way I could temporarily escape the world around me for, say, three minutes or so =D. It holds a lot of sadness for me but it is such a wonderful song that could put nearly anyone at ease. Great job by Jimi and the boys.
This song is a perfect example of why "Lost Souls" is my favorite "float in the water under a pale summer moon" album (or "go for a long drive under a bright full moon" album). Just so... ahhhh...
It's about feeling ok, feeling like nothing can touch you. Care free unadulterated thought patterns with meaning and verve. You hang on to that feeling for as long as you can; then it's gone. Your left alone with those blissful thoughts and how seamless it appeared to you, hoping that one day it will all make sense.
