Heartbroke Lyrics
You stop stopping by to say hello
You started starting up each time I phone
I only call when I get the blues
You think at least I could turn to you
But I'm sure your heart is breaking too
It's getting better every day
I still reserve the right to complain to you
That being said I rarely do
You left me with nothing left to lose
But I'm sure your heart is breaking too
I see you find the way to pass the time
"You'd like him, he's a lot like you"
I didn't see you getting saddled up so soon
"Babe, I know you'll find somebody too"
Maybe another week to recoup
"It's never easy but I'm sure we'll make it through"
Yeah, I'm sure your heart is breaking too
I can't imagine how hard it's been
On second thought you don't seem to give a shit
You claim your pain but where's the bruise?
Yeah, I'm sure your heart is breaking too
You started starting up each time I phone
I only call when I get the blues
You think at least I could turn to you
But I'm sure your heart is breaking too
I still reserve the right to complain to you
That being said I rarely do
You left me with nothing left to lose
But I'm sure your heart is breaking too
"You'd like him, he's a lot like you"
I didn't see you getting saddled up so soon
"Babe, I know you'll find somebody too"
Maybe another week to recoup
"It's never easy but I'm sure we'll make it through"
Yeah, I'm sure your heart is breaking too
On second thought you don't seem to give a shit
You claim your pain but where's the bruise?
Yeah, I'm sure your heart is breaking too

...but this song is a sarcastic commentary on a breakup
I laughed at the girl part. . . she just sounds so funny.
in its cool we can still be friends he sings 'you say that i hurt you in a voice like a prayer. lift up your shirt, the wound isn't there'
anyway
this is song is so sarcastic and sad. i love it.
Um, it's not a guest, it's Stefanie Drootin, she's always been in the band. She's an unbelivable bass guitarist, but she has such a beautiful voice that Kasher has her sing on quite a few tracks. I don't know if she's who you've heard sing with Bright Eyes, but she has both played bass and sung for them as a rotating member. Best thing about Saddle Creek bands is that they all know each other so well and they all play and sing on each other's albums; Drootin herself is in like four bands. Also, she is unbelievably hot!
i'm pretty sure it says, "you claim your pain but where's the bruise?"
gahhh, I messed up transcribing the first verse.
Some corrections:
"you stop stopping by to say hello You started starting up each time I phone"
"That being said I rarely do"
"you like him he's a lot like you"
Oh you'll always be Heartbroke.
In the third verse the girl is supposed to be the girlfriend.
"I like him, he's alot like you." "Babe, I know you'll find somebody, too"
damn this song for being so appropriate.
where have i heard that "but where's the bruise" lyric before?
