On A Friday

This is by far my favorite song on this album. I'm actually going through something like this atm.. it reminds me of having 'drunk sex' with someone and it always happens, but it's never really recognized by either of them. Then he realizes he shouldn't be waiting around for something that will never come.. he's had his chance but he lost it because he waited too long.. so now he doesn't even care. It's in the past.

I'm sorry for that man.

I totally agree with TheSageBush but I also wanted to add what I think of the "dancing with strangers" part. He might mean the different relationships he had, he thought he knew his partners but they ended up being different people or maybe they might have cheated on him.

The members of Radiohead all attended Abingdon School, a boys-only public school in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. In 1986, they formed the band "On a Friday", the name referring to the band's usual rehearsal day in the school's music room.

The band was named On A Friday, as Friday was the only day on which the members were allowed to rehearse.

Another reason why I don't believe that is because, who would cheat on Davey? He's the sweetest/kindest/most sincere man I've ever met. I've actually had conversations with him [through a whole tiger army set]. Plus he's packing ;) That's the perfect man in my opinion.

A couple weeks ago I got wasted and fucked this guy I didn't know that well, and we both know it happened but we barely remember...I wish we could just forget it ever happened, like in the lines: Safe to say that you won't recall so, let's just pretend nothing happened at all

i think the beginning is about entering a physical relationship with a girl to look for attachment. he's in need of something, and thinks sex will get him there. he tries to brush it off as it is nothing, "oh my love, where is the danger?".

then he realizes that this will lead him down the road of emptiness again. the car crash is almost the end of the road, and in reality, it doesn't even matter.

I agree with it being about meaningless sex. But since Davey doesn't drink that's why it says "safe to say you won't recall" instead of we the first time. I think he's asking if the girl questioned he actions and thought about what people would think of her. aka if she thought she was a whore. i think "dancing with strangers" is sleeping with different people who feel like strangers since they don't know the real you
