Sleepdriving Lyrics
Snow fell thick and small
It buried a starlit fog
You remembered it all
I'm sleepdriving away
Metal and mold, bourbon and clove
Mirrors and smoke, yesterday's clothes
I'm sleepdriving away
Eyes through your window, I stare out
And some, someday we'll be too old
Cold will ache with making you jaw
You're only as old as you say that we are
I'm sleepdriving away
The trunk of the car filled with all that we own
This old Pontiac's starting to feel like a boat
I'm sleepdriving away
Eyes through your window I stare out
And some, someday we'll be too old
It's nearly dawn, your motel home
The shades were drawn to hide the storm
Without a sound, the TV glows
The blankets tight around our throats
Swirling 'round, the light above
Outside the crows were waking up
It's nearly dawn
Motel home was nearly gone
No sleep at all
Outside, those crows
In life, oh noes
Frozen roads and white
Sleepdriving away
It buried a starlit fog
You remembered it all
I'm sleepdriving away
Mirrors and smoke, yesterday's clothes
I'm sleepdriving away
And some, someday we'll be too old
You're only as old as you say that we are
I'm sleepdriving away
This old Pontiac's starting to feel like a boat
I'm sleepdriving away
And some, someday we'll be too old
The shades were drawn to hide the storm
Without a sound, the TV glows
The blankets tight around our throats
Outside the crows were waking up
It's nearly dawn
Motel home was nearly gone
No sleep at all
In life, oh noes
Sleepdriving away

Snow fell thick and small It buried us all in a fog You remembered it all I'm sleepdriving away
Metal and mold, bourbon and clove Mirrors and smoke, yesterday's clothes I'm sleepdriving away
As through your window I stared out And saw someday we'll be too old
Cold winter air put an ache in your jaw You're only as old as you say that we are I'm sleepdriving away
The trunk of the car filled with all that we own This old Pontiac's starting to feel like a boat I'm sleepdriving away
As through your window I stared out And saw someday we'll be too old
It's nearly dawn in a motel home The shades were drawn to hide the storm Without a sound the TV glows The blankets tight around our throats
Swirling around the light above Outside the crows are waking up It's nearly dawn in a motel home Was nearly gone, no sleep at all
Outside those crows In lines on those Frozen roads and wires Sleepdriving away
Great work, thank you!

(It may just be me, but I keep hearing "outside the crows were waking up")

is this fucking mat brooke that posted this? you're amaaaaaaazing. i still think it's motel home though, and maybe tight instead of tied.
haha wtf ... why would you think it was mat that posted it? it's just a fan, like you or me. even if it was, do you really think you'd be the one correcting him on his own lyrics?
uh are you serious? i was obviously joking. :S
what? joking. thats a terrible joke
isn't this reserved for grand archives talk? sorry i can't be funny enough for you. it is motel home and tight btw.
what do you guys think of the original version most of us heard online first vs. the album version? it's strange that the new version actually sounds LESS polished.
I love both versions, tho' the newer one took awhile to grow on me. Love the title!
I keep this song on repeat*
