Just Let Go Lyrics
We've got all night just to make it all right
Would you take a walk with me?
I'll give you all I've got, just spare me your time
And I promise you won't want to leave
Are you, are you, falling for me?
This time...
We'll find what we both need
There's an old oak tree
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
When I look at you, you're so far away
I'm so far away
Oh, if you could just let go...
Would you rest with me, just for a while
I'll take you out of harm's way
And like these branches that shelter the rain
We can lay here in our own shade
Are you, are you, falling for me?
Just watch...
The two of us will see
There's an old oak tree
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
When I look at you, you're so far away
I'm so far away
There is so much that I could give to you
Just say you want me to
I know these roots could break the ground
And in the meantime, our leaves will turn
But rest assured, we'll get through anything
Are you, are you falling for me?
Like I, Oh, I'm falling for you...
There's an old oak tree
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
It's just you and me
We can get away
We can get away
(You're so far away)
In this lover's play
We are happy here
Oh, in every way
Oh, and then we just let go...
Just let go
Just let go
Just let go
Just let go...
Would you take a walk with me?
I'll give you all I've got, just spare me your time
And I promise you won't want to leave
This time...
We'll find what we both need
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
When I look at you, you're so far away
I'm so far away
Oh, if you could just let go...
I'll take you out of harm's way
And like these branches that shelter the rain
We can lay here in our own shade
Just watch...
The two of us will see
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
When I look at you, you're so far away
I'm so far away
Just say you want me to
I know these roots could break the ground
And in the meantime, our leaves will turn
But rest assured, we'll get through anything
Like I, Oh, I'm falling for you...
We can swing and sway
We'll lock arms and lay
(You're so far away)
It's just you and me
We can get away
We can get away
(You're so far away)
In this lover's play
We are happy here
Oh, in every way
Oh, and then we just let go...
Just let go
Just let go
Just let go
Just let go...

Thee lyrics are definitely "Lock Arms and Lay"
Okay, this is what my take on the song is. It seems to me to be about two people in love obviously, and I think the "old" oak tree represents there eternal love for each other. And when it says we can swing and sway, its like the saying "bending but not breaking", in that there love cannot be taken away. But, it seems that something is keeping them apart from each other, hence "when I look at you, your so far away." Something in their lives is keeping them apart, and the title Just Let Go, is saying he wants to be able to let go of whatever it is that is holding them back. Maybe, as stated by other people, the girl was abused, and he is saying that "if only you could just let go" of the past and be with him. Then the line "I know these roots could break the ground" refers to his or her being "rooted" to where they are by there past mistakes (abuse). Also, "in the meantime, or leaves will turn, but rest assured we'll get through anything" is saying that they are moving on to different times and places in their lives, just like the changing seasons. But they will be able to get through it to see each other again. Anyway, that is my extremely long and too far in depth take on this song
I love this song. :] Their new album is going to be amazing.
"There is so much that I could give to you. Just say you want me to. I know these roots could break the ground. And in the meantime, our leaves will turn. But rest assured, we'll get through anything."
Best line. It's beautiful. And so is the chorus. This song is amazing.
Anyways, I think this song is about boy who likes this girl who's been hurt. And he wants her to see that he likes her, and put her guard down. But maybe she isn't ready because she's been hurt. And he wants her to like him, and "just let go". Hmm, who knows. Atleast that's how I see it. And I can relate. This song is wonderful.
I'm pretty sure that its:
There's an old oak tree We can swing and sway We'll lock arms and lay
Throwl is not a word and if it is, Dave is too good to use it.
You are exactly right...the lyrics clearly are;
"We'll lock arms and lay"
Regardless, this song is absolutely incredible. I have been one of the biggest MAE fans since their first album, they are one of the best lyrical bands out there today...their music is just epic
"Throw our guards away" makes sense, too. Not Throwl. But, "We'll lock arms and lay" makes sense, too. So I think that you guys are right.
im a die hard mae fan, and i dont like their new album, its not the same band i love. but this song is closest to the old mae on the new cd. its a beautiful song.
throwl is not a word, your right but it definately isnt "lock our arms and lay" its "throw our guards away" as in just let go put your guards down so i can give you all that i have "there is so much that i can give to you, just say you want me to" mae is absolutely amazing im a HUGE fan favorite band ever
im sorry i made a mistake^ its "lock our arms and legs" SINGULARITY TODAY
lock our arms and legs?? hahaha im imagining a very awkward position.
i love this song, totally agree with the first comment abt the meaning. i like reflections heaps too, but there are a couple songs on the album that im not really into. decent tho, im stil a mae fan, and i agree that its 'we'll lock arms and lay". sounded a bit like 'we'll log on to mae..' on the first play of the song hahah. dont u think? just me? yeh ok sorry
