(x) Amount of Truth Lyrics
Wake all the children from their slumber
Before they wonder
Why the dreams have gone to hell
Wake all the children from their sleep
Down the staircase we shall creep
To the basement of this white picket home
Let's show them where the bad ones go
For all they know
For all they know
Their heroes are still untouchable
What they don't know
What they don't know
All the preachers and all the ministers
Administer those sinister looks
They teach from a liars cherub
A pulpit mounted on a child's prayer
Before they wonder
Why the dreams have gone to hell
Down the staircase we shall creep
To the basement of this white picket home
For all they know
For all they know
Their heroes are still untouchable
What they don't know
What they don't know
Administer those sinister looks
They teach from a liars cherub
A pulpit mounted on a child's prayer

CORRECT LYRICS FROM THE CD BOOKLET
Wake all the children from their slumber, Before they wonder why their dreams have gone to hell. Wake all the children from their sleep. Down the staircase we shall creep, To the basement of this white picket home. Let's show them where the bad ones go. For all they know, for all they know, Their heroes are still untouchable. What they don't know, what they don't know. All the preachers and the ministers Administer those sinister looks. They teach from a liars cherub A pulpit mounted on a child's prayer.
This is basically another religious thing about how a lot of religions try to make you feel guilty, scared and ashamed about not being a believer "Let's show them where the bad ones go" and the 'sinister looks' is basically to try to strike fear into you so that you decide to go to church and fall into that trap...
does anyone know what he's saying backwards in the beginning. i reversed it and it sounded like french, but i only speak spanish so....
i love this song. its so beautiful. it should be longer though.
Chipdameeper: It is french, but its to fast (I'm not that fluent in french), and there is a bunch of background noise, so I can't make out the words. I would be interested in knowing what it says though.
ahh i love this song. i think it's deffs a religious referance, but i guess it could be related to like the gov't and shit too with that line, "show them where the bad ones go."
I always skip this song when i comes up on my ipod. I love all their other stuff, but this is a little to Pink Floyd for my taste.
"Why the dreams have gone to hell" is "Why their dreams have gone to hell." "They teach from a liars cherub" is "They teach from a liar's chair, a pulpit..."
