Shadow Lyrics

I remember the fear
I remember the taste
Isolation
Reflection
A distant echoed howl
The noise of souls
Shadows moving on me
Tension
Animal
Response
Blind eyes dawning and watching the river
The sword raised in judgment
My distance burning
To bring me to you
I'm walking
Into
The eternal

It reminds me of GY!BE's Dead Flag Blues from F#A#.

The track seems to have a hunter-y quality to it, like he's some sort of predator or killer.

Why is it that every time I go to look at Neurosis related lyric stuff I find that it's wrong. Have the people who post these listening through a wall?

Seriously.. "watching the wreckage"? "my engines burning"? "To bring them to me"? How do the actual lyrics sound anything like these? And its completely missing an entire line... He's not singing, he speaking. He's not muttering, he's enunciating effectively

Lyric Correction

it's because its what's printed in the inlay of the physical CD case. Neurosis has had a long history of not having the written lyrics be the same as the sung lyrics. I've never understood. They've been doing that since the Through Silver in Blood album as far as i've found evidence of, and probably before.

@daemon6 lyrics corrected to reflect the actual spoken words!

Have the people who post these been listening through walls?

edit: had to correct my poorly worded sentence

Have to agree with @gzaz in regards to the predator analogy. Definitely gives a vibe of someone / thing being hunted (by a shadowy figure or is it literally their shadow and all the connotations attached to your shadow??)

Is the last few lines a play on the religious explanation of Hell (lake of fire). Therefore a lake of light must be heaven??
