I Need Somthing

This song really gets to me. I'm listening to it right now. I think its about loneliness.. 'I need something to believe in'. I agree with the above comments that this song can also relate to low self-esteem but not entirely.. This person has tried so hard to find their way but everything they do seems to get them nowhere. Maybe thats why they don't believe in themselves? I think the line 'I don't mind anymore' could possibly be denial or a way of expressing that they're giving up. Especially with the line 'guess it'll all work out' Scared of success and failure i believe is about being afraid of change or taking risks since they're used to the way their life has turned out... But thats just my opinion

I think this is about total lack of self esteem, the author is beyond caring about anything. In which case "don't mind any more" should read "don't care any more

i think it is about relying on other people to build your self estem but being lonely for so long it almost doesnt matter that there is no-one there

i think that this song is about him trying to make it into the music buisness and continually being knocked back and so therefore not believing in himself and his talents anymore. So therefore 'i dont mind anymore' means i dont mind if i make it or not anymore.

i personally think its about a guy whos scared to fall in love cos hes scared of it not working out and hes scared of falling in love and puttin his heart in some1 elses hands and having it work out cos he doesnt know what to do in tht situation am probs wrong like but so what am no bothered thts just what i think

I thnk its about when you've had enough of everything - ur 'sick and tired'.

He needs to believe something good may be on the horizon, cos no matter how hard he tries, his fate doesnt seem to be up to him anymore, therefore, he doesnt believe in himself anymore.

Needing someone to put his trust in - needing to believe there is some higher power that will help him out.

He's scared of success and failure since it cud go either way - its not up to him anymore.

He's so jaded from the trying that he is just gonna leave it up to the gods of fate, let them get on with it and kick back and relax.

The upbeat feel to the song symbolises the weight that has been lifted from his shoulders - he will no longer feel this burdern of being up constantly up against it.

oh man......when this song gets on commercial radio its going to be HUGE! :o

I can well relate to this song atm. i dont find it being so much as low selfesteem cos i believe in myself.. its just the way of being so used to nothing working out lately, i just dont care anymore. im just going with it now. not trying =] gooood tuune =] x
