Bitches in Tokyo Lyrics

You can write my place out
Of the life you make
And all the things that mattered
When you knew my face
Cross off all the ways I failed you
'Cause I failed you
But I'm still in your blood
You're still in my blood

A time when all your mistakes
Made sense, you needed it
A time when all the lying
Sympathized with sin
All this sabotage and blame, well, I can take it
'Cause I just want you back
I just want you back

Temporary battles
Can take up half your life
How you dig your bed
Will it help you sleep at night?
Forgiveness like a blanket
That you want to forget
But you still crumble at my name
You still crumble at my name

A time when all your mistakes
Made sense, you needed it
A time when all the lying
Sympathized with sin
All this sabotage and blame, well, I can take it
'Cause I just want you back
I just want you back

I tried. It's not perfect, I'm no expert, but I hope this can help someone :) It's quite rough, but I think I might have done alright.

"You can write my place Out of the life you make And all the things that mattered When you knew my face Cross off all the ways I failed you 'Cause I failed you But I'm still in your blood You're still in my blood"

She's saying to her ex that yeah, you can pretend you're over me, and I can pretend I'm over you, but we both know the truth is that we still have feelings for eachother.

"A time when all your mistakes Made sense, you needed it."

This means that he needed time to sort out his mistakes and he couldn't handle a relationship, the word 'it' meaning a break from the relationship.

"A time when all the lyin' Sympathized with sin All this sabotage and blame Well, I can take it 'Cause I just want you back I just want you back"

In the chorus she says that we really just needed a break from eachother but doesn't have to be permanent. We are better together than apart. I can get used to stuff that annoys me, and we'll be alright again.

"Temporary battles Can take up half your life"

She is saying to her ex that you can go through a lot of time being unhappy, and missing what once was because you're too stuborn to forgive and forget.

"How you dig your bed Will it help you sleep at night? Forgiveness like a blanket That you want to forget But you still crumble at my name You still crumble at my name"

Basically still just following the same theme as the other verses. We'll be okay if you forgive and forget, because you still love me. Even at the sound of my anme you grow weak, so just come back to me.

I think the song's about a girl who treated a guy really badly and broke his heart but she grows up a bit and wants him back.

I'm not sure about the line "Simply passed as sin," since it sounds like Amy says "with" somewhere in there, but it was my best guess for now.

It's, "A time when all the lyin', sympathized with sin."

Thanks; I've submitted it for a correction.

In the chorus, I think Amy says "All this sabotage you bring, well, I CAN take it 'cause I just want you back. I just want you back."

It makes more sense - like, for what it's worth, she'll go through hell if it means she can get "you" back.

In the chorus, it's not "All this sabotage you bring" it's "All this sabotage and blame". I don't know how you could make that mistake.

i definitely think it's

"all this sabotage and blame, well i can take it"

it wouldn't make sense if it was "can't"

Nice name. Mtb is awesome.

To me I think this song is about parents and their kids. Just watching the official music video I get that feeling, and it starts to click. Especially the lines about blood. I just get the feeling like the parents are writing their child out of their life because of they may have done, like joining a band, coming out of the closet, or something like that. It's pretty hard hitting when she says "I just want you back," which I'm sure a lot of kids disowned by their parents want deep down.
