Audiobody Lyrics

Audiobody ( X 6)

Aim high defend my brother
From this machinery
It gleams from high above us
You sink or swim
I fly

Clean glass and folded bedding
I let the light in
My windows are for clicking
I close and open them

Dooms day the bombs are falling, releasing statements
On what our kids are watching and who’s in love with who

Audiobody (X 4)

My skin is white
My photo shows up blue blooded
My eyes are red and starry
This nation is out for me

Back east, I have a family
I have a hometown
Between the lake and field
The heart was home for me.

Fuel makes the burning the brighter (X 10) [ Indistinguishable backup vocals]
Fuel makes the fire high

Audiobody ( X 4)

I am a covered wagon
Making my way west
I won’t stop at the foothill
I need to see the sea

I am R.P. Mcmurphey
I am Nurse Ratched
I’ve slept along the thunder
I use it in my song

Fuel makes the burning brighter (X 15)
Fuel gets the fire hot

I couldn't find the lyrics to this song anywhere, so I just listened to it a few times and figured them out as best as I could. Any corrections?

The only real insight I have to offer as to meaning of this song is to point out the reference to the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, which, for those of you who don't know, is about a cruel and very strict insane asylum. There is obvious irony in the statement that he is both R.P McMurphey (a rebellious and actually quite sane tenant) and Nurse Ratched (the cruel and controlling head nurse) who, in the story, are enemies.

Although this song has an upbeat sound and light melody, there also seems to be an eerier, darker element addressed. Doom's Day, Insanity, Rebellion, Machinery.

Other thoughts?

well in a denverpost interview with patrick, patrick said that he wrote the music first and then the lyrics just flowed out from there and also that these were lyrics he just couldn't fit in to any other song.
