And don't you think it's strange,
that I call you by a different name,
whisper to me, oh

Never let it snap,
two for my seconds
Never let it snap,
two for my seconds

and in time, it's all your fault for the minute
for the minute, it's all your fault for the minute tonight

and you must think that I'm weird
because I'm holdin' a grudge
I never told you that I won't back two for my seconds
never back down two for my seconds

and in time its all your fault for the minute
for the minute, its all your fault for the minute tonight

and it's so, it's fantastic
mesmerize by memory
childhood thoughts can't comfort me in this house of mine

Why don't you think their alike?
Like you've been wanting to say?
I never told you that I though I was fooled for an hour,
thought that I was fooled for an hour

and in time it's all your fault for the minute
for the minute it's all your fault, for the minute tonight.

and its so, it's fantastic,
mesmerize by memory,
childhood thoughts can't comfort me in this house of mine

You think that there's just this other step
that we can step up
to dress us up
just how you like and put us on this pedestal
talk about the way we are
the way you think and you feel you're so special now. (x2)

And don't you think it's strange
that i call you by a different name
whisper to me, oh

Never let it snap,
two for my seconds
Never let it snap,
two for my seconds

and in time, it's all your fault for the minute
for the minute, its all your fault for the minute tonight

General Commenti think she has things too heavy on her.
and she cant find anything else to help her.
"childhood thoughts can't comfort me in this house of mine"
she mightbe talking about her parents.

General CommentI think it's about a girl and her new lover. She doesn't really love him, but enjoys escaping into the her fantasy where he's the Prince Chaming she've always dreamed of.

But it doesn't really work. (Childhood thoughts can't comfort us in the house of mine). And in the end she just gets mad and blames him for not being the right guy.

Meanwhile he wants to make things more serious ("This other step that we can step up to") and she's not interested in a real boyfriend, because she's happier in the fantasy world she created.

General CommentWell here's the thing...I feel like "Don't you think that's the strange that I call you by a different name" sounds like she is talking to one of her parents. Maybe a step-father figure or something. But at the same time I don't get what "don't you think they're alike" means...maybe it's to her mom. Maybe her new step-dad is abuse like her father was? DID Amandah have an abuse father?
