Glass Vase Cello Case Lyrics
Breathe into my hands I'll cup them like a glass to drink from
Are you still, still breathin'
Are you still
Breathin'
Are you still, still breathin'
Are you still
Breathin'
Breathe into my hands I'll cup them like a glass to drink from
Are you still
Breathin'
Are you still, still breathin'
Are you still
Breathin'

not a lot lyric-wise with this song... but hey, it doesn't need it
I think this song is about (or at least tries to capture) the excitement and anxiety of realising one's feelings of Love. To have those feelings is one thing, to be aware of them is something else entirely, and most people become overwhelmed and "can't breathe." And she's saying to the person, "here, let me help you through this."
I don't know. I may have missed the mark on this one.
I think you're kinda' right on that, daft. I think I'm making your idea more clear by saying that, when you're in love, that person takes your breath away.
"Breathe into my hands I'll cup them like a glass to drink from" is saying that "I'll" take all "your" loving in one whole piece, and take your breath away.
The asking of, "Are you still, still breathin'?" I think is showing the care of the person? I'm probably going way too far with this analysis. But that's alright. :] I just love this song.
I heard it in But I'm A Cheerleader. One of the best GLBT-related movies I've seen so far.
I agree with you Daft and Kaliyk.
Though, I think it's not only about BEING inlove. I think it's the idea of love over all. The fighting, the good times, the bad.
For example, when the violin becomes scratchy sounding and out of tunish, it's like it's showing the pain and craziness in love. But it still goes back to the sweet melody. In my opinion, it's showing the different steps of love and life through the flow of the music, excitement, pain, happiness, relaxation, etc. But, showing through the words that through all these times, the person you love will be there, helping you get by, "Are you still breathing" like asking if they're still able to get by, and "Breathe into my hands" like saying that they're be there to ease the pain and help be your life support. =]
Love the movie by the way. xD
This song is amazing, it really creates that gorgeous love vibe. I always think of the final scene in 'But I'm a cheerleader' whenever I hear it, which is my fave part!
It's definitely about love. No denying that.
And I'm a fan of anything involving cellos.
Daft, I think you're on the mark.
