White Noise Maker Lyrics

You know I hear a lot of talk
So I'm headed for the stereo store
To get a white noise maker and turn it up to ten

Or maybe the interior
Of somewhere like Siberia
Yeah, the yak is back again

Like harvest moon o'er my head
Yes, it was
That billboard prose shining on me
And it shines because
It's been so long since my telstar
I hope it crashes in the sea

Or maybe the interior
Of somewhere like Siberia
Yakety-yak is back again

You know I hear a lot of talk
So I'm headed for the stereo store
To get a white noise maker and turn it up to ten

Like harvest moon o'er my head
Yes, it was
That billboard prose shining on me
And it shines because
It's been so long since my telstar
I hope it crashes in the sea

I love the Siberia-white metaphor, and the yak-chatter metaphor. Telstar was the first communications satellite. Just another cog in the bradbury/F451 references and I guess Frank wants it to crash in the sea or buy a white noise maker to cancel out all the chatter. I can't believe this guy writes lyrics like this, i love it!

Have you ever heard voices? Not just in your head but people on the street.. talking about you; sometimes subtle, sometimes not so subtle. Ever wonder if they can read your mind? If they can, then why not deafen them? This song, in my opinion, is about a defense mechanism.

"Like harvest moon o'er my head... That Billboard prose shines on me... It's been so long since my Telstar"

Harvest moons are bright, orange, and sometimes associated with occult/strange happenings. Perhaps FB is feeling a bit tormented; his demons or angels are bothering him because it's been so long since his first and or last big hit. Just my interpretation.
