Frozen Love Lyrics

You may not be as strong as me
And I may not care to teach you
It may be hard to keep up with me
But I'll always be able to reach you

And if you go forward, I'll meet you there
And if you climb up through the cold freezing air
Look down below you; search out above
And cry out to life for a frozen love

Life gave me you; the change was made
And there's no beginning over
You are not happy, but what is love?
Hate gave you me for a lover...

And if you go forward, I'll meet you there
And if you climb up through the cold freezing air
Look down below you; search out above
And cry out to life for a frozen love

Here's a second comment. I could not love this song more. I still have my original album from when I was a kid and still can't believe you can't just go to iTunes and buy clean versions of these wonderful songs!

I agree, if you're here and reading this, you are cool.

This is a terrific song, and one of their few dual writing credits. I'm guessing Lindsay wrote the verses and Stevie wrote the chorus. Created when they were first starting out, during those difficult early years we all have. The lyric the stands out to me - "hate gave you me for a lover" - hints at the drama to come.

I’m thinking likely Lindsey wrote the first verse, Stevie wrote the second, and they collaborated on the chorus. Singers typically sing their own contributions within the arrangement.

This song is almost prophetic in how it outlined their relationship years in advance. Lindsey started “you may not be as strong as me”. But by the third verse she was repeating the line with more intensity and had turned the tables on him. They were naked on the album cover. And they are equally naked in the song.

Great piece of music. Kind of their magnum opus “free bird” in...
