I feel that this song is about when he didnt have someone to love him he just wanted to getaway so he booked a trip and then found someone to love him,so now its very hard to leave that person.

I am pretty sure this was written for the movie "Cars" and just not used. Certainly fits as it has that movie soundtrack feel to me unlike a lot of his other songs.

No, this was a song that was supposed to be on continuum but he felt like it didnt fit right. The song is about always only having to worry about himself and what matter to him, but as the song says, "Now I have a love to lead." Meaning it is no longer just about him anymore Bought a ticket for a trip I wanted long ago staring deep into crying eyes said goodbye, stood in line now I changed my mind I used to run and never look behind

The trip is just things he could do or wants to do freely outside a relationship He breaks up with the girl realizes that is wrong and go back to her because he understands now what being in a relstionship means. He lets go of that idea of his bachlorhood and doesnt get on the plane(meaning he does not choose himself over the relationship).
