A Coming Of Age Story Lyrics
one hell of a heartbreak, maybe i'm one hell of a scar. we say these words with heavy hearts, you build me up to watch me fall apart. and i guess my greatest regret is not just losing you, but losing you as a friend. i want that back
so speak your mind, tell me why we used to share secrets and now we share distance. we both know this isn't the way it should be.
let go of the hate, let go of the pain. we were kids back then. we've made our mistakes, now time has changed, we've aged, do you still feel the same way.
don't make this awkward baby. talk like adults and maybe we'll get some closure, or just get over. the passion of those actions that spoke louder than words than we've ever heard and i'm listening.
so speak your mind, tell me why we used to share secrets and now we share distance. we both know this isn't the way it should be.
let go of the hate, let go of the pain. we were kids back then. we've made our mistakes, now time has changed, we've aged, do you still feel the same way.
you were my confidence and my only consequence now is how i'll never forget this. you were my confidence and my only consequence now is how you were worth every minute. as we tried to say goodbye there wasn't a dry eye in the room, but then again it was just me and you.
let go of the hate, let go of the pain. we were kids back then. we've made our mistakes, now time has changed, we've aged, do you still feel the same way. cause i still feel.

Pretty obvious, good song.
this is my favorite dropout year song and i really hope they play it sunday..
its obviously about how he had a falling out with a really good friend some years ago and that friend and now that he's looking back on it he wants them to talk it out and become friends again. he misses the friendship and closeness they had and wants it back.
just my opinion.
I totally agree with Worldxwarxme, It's definitly about him losing touch with one of his best friends, and they are clearly distant from each other and he misses it. And he's asking them to forget about the past, they were kids and they made mistakes, and thats what kids do.
Awww i love this song!
It's about something that pretty much everyone goes through, really great.(:
Basically I feel it's about your first true love. You become best friends you never want that person gone. Shit happened they had a fall out and he's basically saying I want you back as a friend.

That line right there shows that it's about the first one true person to get you out of your shell. The one you share all your secrets with, the one you dream about growing old with because you're young and you don't know that it'll never happen.I'm so filling this right now. I shared everything with her and I just want it back. </3
i think he's sad about losing a girl as a girlfriend, but hes even sadder about losing her as a friend. i can relate
