I Got To Put The Hammer Down Lyrics
I lost my cherry on a side street
To a dirty little woman in the back seat
I was young and wet behind my ears
Well I'm fuckin' stupid beyond my years
Rollin in the sticky
Rollin in the Benz
Been stealin all your women since I don't know when cause
I got to put the hammer down
I was strung out on a heroin kick
With the cops and the government on my dick
I was lookin' out the window for the FBI
With my pipe and a needle just a tryin to get high
The white coat president on my hands
Every twenty five seconds I make thirty five grand cause
I got to put the hammer down
To a dirty little woman in the back seat
I was young and wet behind my ears
Well I'm fuckin' stupid beyond my years
Rollin in the sticky
Rollin in the Benz
Been stealin all your women since I don't know when cause
With the cops and the government on my dick
I was lookin' out the window for the FBI
With my pipe and a needle just a tryin to get high
The white coat president on my hands
Every twenty five seconds I make thirty five grand cause

Ween FTW!
Loving the new EP.
i think this song is about someone looking at the first time they used heroin then distribeing how it makes them parinoid and how they really wanna quit
i cant tell if he is saying i got to put the hammer down as in "i have to put the hammer down" or as in "i had a chance to put the hammer down".
I think this song is just a romp through an urban jungle of prostitution and drug abuse. The first line: I lost my cherry on a side street... might be a double énténdre: the colloquial loss of virginity sexually, slash, the first time using dope.
Overall it's just another sublime Ween parody with mood, timing, and visual reference fine-tuned to perfection.
i think the first verse is about reflecting on how he came to be a junkie then he 'puts teh hammer down' meaning shooting up to forget
the second verse is describing BEING a junkie.. the paranoia, the law problems.. then again at the end of the song he 'puts the hammer down' again to forget the crap life he has addicted tot he needle.
