We met on a rainy evening in the summertime
Don't think I need to tell you more
I needed a raise, I worked so hard for this love of mine
Love of mine
Still I got nothing to show for it

Here's a simplification of everything I'm going through
Ooh, you plus me is bad news
But you're a lovely creation, I like to think that I am, too, ooh
My friends said I look better without you, yeah

Tongue-tied and twisted
Go on, baby, and go to my head

Babe, baby, believe me
If I stay, it ain't gonna be easy
Okay, we'll do it your way
But this is the last time
You'll hear the beautiful sound of love comin' down
Love on the rocks

You love the chase, but hate me for the runaround
We're both just tired of the whole thing (tired of the whole thing)
Oh, and you tell me what you want, you need
You know you have to have
And I just pretend I'm listening (listening)

Too tired this time (ah)
To deal with old suits you wear, your ties that won't bind

Baby, baby, believe me
If I stay, it ain't gonna be easy
Okay, we'll do it your way
But this is the last time
You'll hear the beautiful sound of love comin' down

Hot as hell, cold as ice, sip it slow 'cause it's so nice
Dulls my senses, drives my pain, but I do it again
Burns a bit to the touch, dangerous if it's too much
If this bottle could talk
Love on the rocks

Babe, baby believe me
If I stay, it ain't gonna be easy
Okay
Baby, baby, baby, baby, believe me
You'll hear the beautiful sound of love comin' down

On the other hand, ksprink1--and not to discount your interpretation because in art it's always valid--alcohol merely seems to be the operative metaphor for the rocky relationship.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
