Sleeping With The Fishes, See? Lyrics

Take my picture...
I want to have proof of this history.
I want the lake in the back.
And all this beauty in my heart.
They like to hide in the marsh.

Like a child on a tire swing...
They swoop in on an arc...
To brush the fish home.

Dinner is served to the young...
The late bloomers lay their eggs.
And they all sway...
To the music of the brushing reeds.

I want to conserve...
I want to protect...
I want to defend...
We have to preserve.
How can I help before this will end?

The bee's need to stay busy (busy bee!)
Butterfly wings need to keep the flowers in motion.
The trail needs to stay warm...
You stay away from their home!!!

Take my picture...
I want to have proof of this history.
There is no sign of the lake...

You and everyone like you are selfish destroyers...
And I'll be just as selfish when I don't give you back.
You and everyone like you are selfish destroyers...
And I'll be just as selfish...

One drill through your heart...
Two chisels through your eyes...
Three nails to crucify you!!!

Don't tell the danger.
Don't tell me too.
Don't tell we'll fail anymore.
Don't tell we have no choice.
Don't tell it all.
Don't tell how it feels.
Don't tell why it is similar.
Don't tell if we fall.
Don't say this too.
Don't tell now...
Don't tell... Don't tell...

I will turn your project to news headlines...

this song is clearly about environmentalism. which is rare considering that the number twelve don't usually write political lyrics, although they are political in life(they've stated that they support obama, they don't usually write about it. the most clear example is "the bees need to stay busy, butterfly wings need to keep flowers in motion, the trail needs to stay warm, so you stay away from their home" also "you and everyone like you are selfish destroyers" and "i want to conserve, i want to protect, i want to defend, we have to preserve" and the part where they say "take my picture i want to have proof of this history" implying that the environment wont last if nothing is done and jase wants a photo for history (how can i help, before this will end), once again commenting on the frailty of the environment.

2:21 onwards is beautiful, especially on the DVD. Anyone got the backing vocals in that bit.

This song is EPIC. Like the part where he goes like The bee's need to stay busy and in the back he says Busy Bee.
