This whole album feels very 80's to me.
Aanyway, it seems like it's about a relationship where one person has gone distant? She changed somehow. Why would she be afraid? She suddenly saw something differently?
If she wasn't afraid, she'll be after this song, hehe. It sounds very entracing.
I get the impression she stopped being into him (maybe because of his reputation like he mentioned) and just can't find it in herself (the courage) to just be honest to his face so she's avoiding him. It happens all the time but I see it more often that men do this.
Regardless, I really like the song.
