And I guess that that would make the posted lyrics a teensie bit off. According to Rooney's myspace, anyway. (Because that's the version that I'm listening to -- I don't know if the album version has the work "kissed" or what...)

If this song was around when I was in HS, I would've played it for this girl I liked. Her bestfriend was my ex but I started to like her, and she won't date me because of her friend.
