I think this song is about being optimistic and realising that eventually things do get better and things do brighten up. I think it's about appreciating all that you have, achieving all you can and making the most of life and living up to your full potential.
I love this song, it picks me up when I'm down. The lyrics speak so much truth. Because things aren't always bad. Sure everyone will face hardship, trials and tribulations but we can get through it if we strive for a better things. [:
