I think that she realizes that she doesn't have anything left in common with him. She still wants to be with him, but logic kicks in. She can't be with someone she doesn't see a future with.

I really like this song, and I agrere with da_QTchick. She's pessimistic and wants to be with him but it's not going anywhere. "You walk ahead, I walk in circles" She's just going around and around and she realises that the closer her heart gets to him, the less logic is in her head.
