Civilized Worm Lyrics
We move more than I would like to gamble
I came with my poor poor eyes
Crawling weakling warning
My favorite come and lie here
Under my bed or deep under my fingers
Well on my hands and knees
in times of winding
We night, it's only when we
civilize that worm
For vagrant times we need it
What secret of your knowing
is the beginning
WHOA!!!
For chance to be old, believe it,
believe it
His widow's nest is growing
cold,cold,cold
Set sail and hurt your hand he
work a lot, you're going home
I came with my poor poor eyes
Crawling weakling warning
My favorite come and lie here
Under my bed or deep under my fingers
in times of winding
We night, it's only when we
civilize that worm
For vagrant times we need it
What secret of your knowing
is the beginning
For chance to be old, believe it,
believe it
His widow's nest is growing
cold,cold,cold
Set sail and hurt your hand he
work a lot, you're going home

sweet, first comment. Im not sure exactly what this song means, i think its about him going to a certain place and not finding his place there, and he's weak, so he waits to go back home, fuckin awsome song
Try this:
We move on Man, I would like to gamble I came with my poor four eyes Crawling, weakling wanting My favorite come and lie here
Under my bed, A demon cut my fingers (Or deep under my fingers?)
With all my hands and needs in times of winding We Knight. . . It's only when we civilize that worm For vagrant times we need it What secret of your knowing Is there beginning?

I think it's about war, accusing a retreating, defeated side asking them if they feel guilt for throwing away it's people's lives on a hopeless cause.
I think the title is a reference to "The Conqueror Worm" by Edgar Allen Poe. In it, the hero of a divine play is decided to be the title creature, that destroys humanity (and the mimes who act out the play).
We try to "Civilize that worm," try to make the destruction of humanity seem civilized.
Pretty dark stuff, I think that "A Senile Animal" is one of the Melvins' angriest albums. A good one two. Great double drum solo at the end of this particular one too.
I feel it's about touring, constantly being on the road and how going home seems alien. Referring to someone's "widow" because their significant other is left at home and seen only then. And how they have to change their habits and get right in the last few days of the tour to re-learn how to behave.
@geoffingeorgia > about touring, constantly being on the road and how going home seems alien.

Hmm - referring to the musician as a "worm"? Interesting..
