I don't think it's about realizing you've been so many places and wanting to go home as the first person commented.
This is about him yearning for an old relationship. Since that ended, he doesn't know what to do with himself and his whole world has been turned upside down because of it. He's basically lost without HER.
So he goes down to the local bar and drinks away his sorrows, goes home and passes out.
Why do people keep posting the wrong lyrics? STOP until the right ones are released. The first verse has already been corrected. The second one is wrong as well.
