The Greenless Wreath Lyrics
At last in the trembling leaves
This bone-cage slips away
Lost in the shivering trees
Your absent voice is clay
Last breath of green
First breath of stone
Sweep this cage of bone
Hungry for your desperate dreams
I hold exhaustion close
The shining world is all that it seems
I fall in love with ghosts
Whispering to you
Through reconstructed teeth
A cage of bone in the greenless wreath
Last breath of green
First breath of stone
This bone-cage slips away
Lost in the shivering trees
Your absent voice is clay
Last breath of green
First breath of stone
Sweep this cage of bone
I hold exhaustion close
The shining world is all that it seems
I fall in love with ghosts
Whispering to you
Through reconstructed teeth
A cage of bone in the greenless wreath
First breath of stone

The thoughts of someone on their death bed.
Even though your interpretation makes so much more sense, seems much more obvious and made me go "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.................. of course.............." I probably never would've determined that without someone else saying it first. Regardless, my initial thought was that it was about someone who had cloaked themselves in self-deception their whole lives and these lyrics represent the moments in which the cloak was lifted during some kind of great awakening/revelation/epiphany.

Think your explanation takes the goddamned cake.
