Charlie Lyrics
Charlie, don't let the girls hurt your heart
Don't let the angry boys tear you apart
I know you're tired of not fitting in
But it's not fitting in that will help to begin
To show you your beauty
Where is the red-headed girl?
The one with the green lunchbox
Even though you had a brown paper bag
Sandwiches hard as rocks
Lunch was the happiest 45 minutes of the day
Lunch was the happiest 45 minutes of the day
For the red-headed angel would glide your way and say
"Hello, hello, Charlie hello"
Wake up, it's after nine and now you're late
Yellow school bus is brimming with hate
They love your face when it blushes red
Get out of bed, you're stronger now
Get out of bed, you're stronger than before
Get out of your bed
Where is the red-headed girl?
The one with the green lunchbox
Even though you had a brown paper bag
Sandwiches hard as rocks
Lunch was the happiest 45 minutes of the day
Lunch was the happiest 45 minutes of the day

"Hello, hello, Charlie hello
Hello, hello, Charlie hello

at the very end of the song she actually plays a tiny bit of "linus and lucy" by vince guaraldi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbiYFA0-8mU
I guess it's about a nerdish bookworm type who gets bullied in school, but the pretty redhead still sticks by him. Sounds like Spiderman's Peter Parker and Mary Jane come to think of it.. haah
This song is brilliant and it's definately about Charlie Brown. I don't know if everyone is old enough to remember much of the Peanut comics or animated features. Charlie brown had an absolute crush on classmate identified only as "the little redhead girl." He would always sit with Linus at lunch and quietly build up his courage to talk to her. Just when he got really determined she would look his way and he would freak out by putting his paper lunch bag over his head. Classic Charlie Brown. There are plenty of strips...

There are plenty of strips about running after the bus in the morning also. Nice song. "Lucy and Linus" at the end was a very nice touch. I love Ingrid's insight. Great song.
this is probably one of her most overlooked songs. it's a brilliant achievement, though. her voice really shines in this one. go listen.
It always reminds me of Charlie Brown when it plays.
Haha, me too :) Very peanutish somehow.
haha yeah doesn't he like the little red-haired girl?
Yeah, it took me a little while to get it the first time I heard this song, but it's definitely about Charlie Brown. Haha.
I bet this song was inspired by this strip! http://www.loc.gov/loc/lcib/0611/images/cartoon1.jpg
