Young One Lyrics
I saw the sky last night
I'd never felt so bright
I'd never felt so right not knowing anything
Down, down inside the earth
Some god is gonna burst
Into a sea of white, not being anything
You know what I think of you
Better than I do
You told me that you do and I swallow everything
I'd believe in anything
Just to feel some sting
But I can't believe in you so just get rid of me
I saw the sky near the black smoke when I was just a young one
Lifted so high from a cushion of what, you were my loved one
Down in the earth, we were covered in dirt with other done ones
I'll see the sky near the black smoke when I am just a gone one
I took a bite of the sun and shone to kingdom come
Where all my words begun not meaning anything
You and your diamond eye
Never saw so bright
Never felt so blind while seeing everything
I saw the sky near the black smoke when I was just a young one
Lifted so high from a cushion of what, you were my loved one
Down in the earth, we were covered in dirt with other done ones
I'll see the sky near the black smoke when I am just a gone one
I'd never felt so bright
I'd never felt so right not knowing anything
Some god is gonna burst
Into a sea of white, not being anything
Better than I do
You told me that you do and I swallow everything
Just to feel some sting
But I can't believe in you so just get rid of me
Lifted so high from a cushion of what, you were my loved one
Down in the earth, we were covered in dirt with other done ones
I'll see the sky near the black smoke when I am just a gone one
Where all my words begun not meaning anything
You and your diamond eye
Never saw so bright
Never felt so blind while seeing everything
Lifted so high from a cushion of what, you were my loved one
Down in the earth, we were covered in dirt with other done ones
I'll see the sky near the black smoke when I am just a gone one

So I'm pretty sure it's "Lifted so high from a cushion of white, you were my loved one", which would make a very obvious metaphor for a cloud, and fit into the whole religiousy feel of being lifted from a cloud like some divine figure.
Either way, this is a dandy little song that I take as being about appreciating the beauty right in front of us before our short lives end. There's just so much out there to see and feel, and this seems like the kinds of things one who is completely happy could spit out. It's just good.
