George Kaminski Lyrics
If ever I'd known.
All of the luck in the world this time around
won't change a thing tonight.
If ever I'd known.
I've done alright for myself this time around
given the weight of the time.
If ever I'd known.
You have all of this whole world,
I've got these four leaves and walls.
If ever I'd known.
All you are capabale of next time around
I'll be the better man.
If ever I'd known.
It really isn't fair next time around
Alaska will be mine.
If ever I'd known.
You have all of this whole world
I've got these four leaves and walls.
Next time around,
I'll leave all these
clovers buried in the ground
for you to find
next time around.
I'll leave all these
clovers buried in the ground
for you to find
next time around.
won't change a thing tonight.
If ever I'd known.
given the weight of the time.
If ever I'd known.
I've got these four leaves and walls.
I'll be the better man.
If ever I'd known.
Alaska will be mine.
If ever I'd known.
I've got these four leaves and walls.
I'll leave all these
clovers buried in the ground
for you to find
next time around.
clovers buried in the ground
for you to find
next time around.

is there a way i can edit these :(
Just add in your corrected lyrics as a comment...It'd be nice if someone added the other two songs. I tried writing them out but there were a few phrases I didn't get.
It's nice to know there's other Grand Archives fans out there besides me, they're a great band :)
i have about 80% of each of the other two, but don't really think they're worth posting yet. the two songs i have up are pretty close though, just mostly that love in the chorus part should actually be luck.
Eh...yeah...me too...I'll just show you what I got...maybe we can add in parts we got?
Torn Blue Foam Couch = Hold on before the waves are high The autumn grey brown sky Bow down shading your eyes From everyone Hold in the hands of our cries Sleepless everynight All you needed was something from anyone Hey darling, don't you look nice So blue all the time Lie down for a while You'll find you're like everyone Hey darling, don't you like nice The dull look in your eyes When you're terrified.
Over and over the lines Memorizing time Now you're so tired And terror folds to far away Full lives have taken all your time It's taken all this time For the rest of our lives We're terrified.
Full lives, they've taken---
Now you're forgetting all of your lines again Hey darling, don't you look fine
Hey darling, don't you look fine, The dull look in your eyes You're terrified.
Hold on to the cries Darling, don't you look fine As brave as we were those days
As brave as we were those days
A Torn Blue Foam Couch As brave as wer were those days
Darling don't you look fine As brave as we were those days
this is what i got for torn blue. a lot of stuff we have the same, but on some of them i think you're right. but heres what i have.
hold on before the waves are high autumns grey brown sky bow down shading your eyes from everyone holding the hands of our crimes sleepless every night all you needed was something from anyone hey darling don't look you nice so blue all the time let out for a while you'll find you're like everyone hey darling don't look you nice the dull look in your eyes well you're terrified
over and over the lines memorized in time now you're so tired and the telephones too far away phone lines/full lives have taken all your time it's taken all this time for the rest of our lives we're terrified phone lines/full lives they're taking making it right in costumes made of twine now you're forgetting all of your lines again hey darling don't you look fine you didn't find the shapes? no idea like eyes and sharp as razors
hey darling don't you look fine the dull look in your eyes you're terrified holding the hands of our crimes darling don't you look fine as brave as we were those days
and lord how it sounds no idea here? as brave as we were those days no idea? on a torn blue foam couch as brave as we were those day
holding the hands of our crimes darling don't you look fine as brave as we were those days
and heres what i have for sleepdriving...
slowly fire thickens to smoke you buried your style in a fog you remembered it all i'm sleepdriving away
lighter than most bourbon and clove mirrors and smoke yesterdays clothes i'm sleepdriving away
And through your window I stare out And some someday we'll be too old
come into the light we're making you jaw you're only as old as you say that we are i'm sleepdriving away
the drunker coffin you thought that we always some cardiac started to feel like a bore i'm sleepdriving away
And through your window I stare out And some someday we'll be too old
it's nearly dawn your motel home the shades were drawn to hide the storm
without a sound the tv glow the blankets tight around our throats
swirling round the light above outside the crows were waking up
it's nearly dawn your motel home was nearly gone no sleep at all
and outside, those clothes, in light oh no
frozen roads and sleepdriving away
So nice of them to publish their lyrics and remove all doubt!
I love this song, both versions! Great concept to honor the guy who once held record for his 4-leaf clover collection ... while in prison. Can't say how well his luck held out, since an Alaskan guy broke the record later.
lol... the four leaf clover thing is awesome. They should have given it to george. he did only have those 2 acres while the other guy had the whole world. That's so great. This song is amazing. I love Grand Archives
i dont think ive ever heard an opening harmony of voices better than on this song. "if ever i'd known"...of this song a longgggggggggg time ago, i would be a happier person today :]
The song's namesake is actually a prison inmate. Check this out:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41883-2005Mar16.html
The current record holder is a Pennsylvania prison inmate, George Kaminski. While serving time on a kidnapping conviction for the past 25 years, Kaminski has gathered 72,927 four-leaf clovers. He found them, one at a time, hidden in the grass of prison yards.
Kaminski was not available for an interview, but a caseworker at the minimum-security facility in Mercer, Pa., relayed a few questions and answers by phone. Kaminski said he started finding the clovers to show a younger inmate who was depressed that "you can do anything you set your mind to."
