Pin-Up Lyrics

You're not the first girl
To draw her fears on her arms
In hopes to capture
All the memories that hunted you down
You can sew your lips shut
With your heart strings
'Cause God knows that you dont need them to hold yourself together

But don't look down because I don't know
Falling is fatal from this height i know
I should've never held you up
This high, this high

You're not the first girl
To cut her fears in her arms
Then let them trickle down
Past memories to pools in your hands
You can hang yourself with your heartstrings
'Cause I know you wont use them to hold yourself up anymore

But don't look down because I don't know
Falling is fatal from this height i know
I should've never held you up
This high, this high

Pull the needle from the back of my wings
Pull the needle, pull the pin from my picture
From my picture

And I will fall to the floor
But you have to pull yourself together

But don't look down because I don't know
Falling is fatal from this height i know
I should've never held you up
This high, this high

This high, this high

As I see it, the song is about a difficult break-up after either a very strong or very long relationship. The chorus directly related to the first few verses and the consistent mentions of cutting or attempted suicide, as after the break-up, the woman or the man has become just that, suicidal. The two's relationship together brought them to such a height of happiness that they could not handle the [fatal] crash back down to despair. Both now regret it.

The verse about "Pull the pin from my picture" signifies an image pinned against the wall of the couple together, or just their one soul mate. Due to the break-up, obviously seeing the picture is no longer a positive feeling, and they remove it by "Pulling the pin", which leads to 'him' to "fall/to the floor". However, doing so admits that neither of the two are willing to speak to each other again, and they're alone in their reconile.

This is what I understand of it.

I think this song is about 2 things..one could be them doing drugs together and he od'ed from it. or the second one being they were in love and he couldn't handle pressure from life. He made her want to live then he might of died or killed himself but made her feel high on life for she can live for herself and for him...

I think it's about expectations and he held this person to a high standard that they could never reach and it hurt them knowing they weren't what he wanted them to be.
